Ath•lete

If fitness is synonymous with health, which we believe it is, then you become healthier by becoming fitter. You simply won’t find olympians with heart disease and diabetes.

Fitness can be broken down into 10 physical skills: endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, agility, coordination, balance, and accuracy. The ability in which you develop these skills determines your fitness.

Therefore, the goal to living a healthy life should be to become and develop as an athlete.

But what exactly is an athlete?

“Athlete”

Everyone has fitness goals, but an athlete takes action toward achieving them. A non-athlete wishes and hopes for a better future but does nothing. Perhaps a better word for non-athlete would be a wannabe.

Said differently, an athlete is (1) anyone with a fitness goal that (2) takes action toward achieving that goal. A wannabe simply has a goal but doesn’t do anything to achieve it

How We Create Athletes

At RxFIT, every individual initially meets with a manager in an introductory meeting called the “No-Sweat Intro”. These meetings happen in-person or over a zoom call and help us understand what you’re hoping we can help you accomplish.

We will ask you about your goals as well as your previous attempts at becoming an athlete (i.e. what you’ve tried doing to achieve these goals in the past). After understanding what’s worked well and what hasn’t in the past, we will write you a fitness prescription. This prescription will tell you exactly what to do and how to do it.

Sadly, too many prescriptions remain unfilled. Being a wannabe is easy. Becoming an athlete is hard.

Understanding this, we only write 6-week prescriptions during the “No-Sweat Intro” — we want to make it as easy as possible for you to become an athlete. You can do anything for 6-weeks! That’s only 42 days!

So, when you make the decision to follow your 42-day fitness prescription, you become an athlete.

Takeaway

When you transition from a wannabe to an athlete, you join the top 20% of America. You’re among the select few who get off the couch and off the processed carbs.

An athlete doesn’t settle for a life full of back pain, obesity, and medication. They take control over their future by finding a coach.

But simply becoming an athlete isn’t the goal; you must also develop as an athlete. You need to train your endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, agility, coordination, balance, and accuracy. I know that can be overwhelming; don’t worry, my coaches will guide you along the journey.

For now, stop wishing and start doing.

Become an athlete.
