What’s the most useless exercise machine you’ve seen at the gym?
This is the twenty-second question that I’m answering this month of the 24 most commonly asked questions Mark and I receive.
There is a lot of utility in workout machines that isolate muscles; but they belong in physical therapist’s offices, not the gym. Machines that isolate joints are great for rehabilitation after an injury.
With that being said, there are some pieces of equipment that I don’t see ever being useful on your quest toward a healthier life. Here are three of those that come to mind:
The Balance & Twist Workout Board.
So many of these pieces of equipment are marketed well — especially the last one that has blasted it’s appearance on Shark Tank.
Don’t be bamboozled.
Equipment that requires compound, multi-joint movements should almost always be prioritized.
